Questions from Auchmithie brands
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Auchmithie?
Auchmithie is in Scotland, so the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003 cover your label, together with the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Who checks supplement labels in Angus?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Angus, overseen nationally by Food Standards Scotland. For advice councils must respect, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Do you only work with Auchmithie businesses?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Auchmithie deliveries go out by tracked delivery to DD11.
Do you offer recyclable pouches?
Mono-material pouches are available, designed for recycling where collection exists. Check the specification before you make any claim on pack.

Rules in Scotland
Supplement labelling rules for Auchmithie
Products you sell from Auchmithie must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of Food Standards Scotland. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
