Blackness questions
Do I need to be based in Blackness to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Blackness orders go by tracked delivery to EH49.
Who checks supplement labels in West Lothian?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for West Lothian, with national oversight from Food Standards Scotland. If you want assured advice, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Blackness?
Blackness is in Scotland, so the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003 cover your label, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
What’s the lead time for pouches to Blackness?
Printed pouches take longer than labels: we confirm the lead time with your quote, then delivery to Blackness is usually the next working day after dispatch.
Printed pouches for Blackness brands
When a product is selling steadily, a printed pouch is often the next step from labels. We print your design directly onto the pouch, with the same compliance check as our labels. Zips, windows, tear notches and hang holes can all be added, with matt, gloss or soft-touch finishes. Not ready for a printed run? Begin with labels on stock pouches and switch later.
