Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Consett
Products you sell from Consett must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. In County Durham, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Printed pouches for Consett brands
Printed pouches look more premium than a labelled stock pouch and save the time of applying labels. Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Resealable zips, clear windows and tear notches can all be added, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish. Still testing a product? Begin with labels on stock pouches and switch later.

FAQs for Consett
Do I need to be based in Consett to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Consett deliveries go out by tracked delivery to DH8.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Consett?
Consett is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 apply, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do you offer recyclable pouches?
Mono-material pouches are available, designed for recycling where collection exists. Check the specification before you make any claim on pack.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
Can pouches have a zip and window?
Yes: zips, tear notches, hang holes and windows, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish.
