Drax questions
Who checks supplement labels in North Yorkshire?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for North Yorkshire, overseen nationally by the Food Standards Agency. If you want assured advice, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
How long do printed pouches take to reach Drax?
Pouches take longer to make than labels: your quote includes the lead time, then delivery to Drax is usually the next working day after dispatch.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Drax?
Drax is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 cover your label, together with the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do you send samples?
Yes. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Drax, so you can feel the materials and finishes.
Printed pouches for Drax brands
When a product is selling steadily, a printed pouch is often the next step from labels. We print your design directly onto the pouch, with the same compliance check as our labels. Still testing a product? Begin with labels on stock pouches and move to printed pouches once it sells. Zips, windows, tear notches and hang holes can all be added, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish.
