Questions from Headon brands
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Headon?
Headon is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 cover your label, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
How long do printed pouches take to reach Headon?
Printed pouches take longer than labels: your quote includes the lead time, then delivery to Headon is usually the next working day after dispatch.
Are the pouches recyclable?
Mono-material pouches are available, designed for recycling where collection exists. Check the specification before you make any claim on pack.
Can pouches have a zip and window?
You can choose: resealable zips, tear notches, hang holes and clear windows, in matt, gloss or soft-touch.
Printed pouches for Headon brands
When a product is selling steadily, a printed pouch is often the next step from labels. We print your design directly onto the pouch, with the same compliance check as our labels. Zips, windows, tear notches and hang holes can all be added, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish. Still testing a product? Begin with labels on stock pouches and move to printed pouches once it sells.

Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Headon
Any food supplement sold from Headon must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Nottinghamshire.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
