Hermiston questions
How many pouches do I need to order?
Minimums depend on the pouch size and finish, and we quote them per design. For small quantities, label stock pouches instead.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes, we can. Request a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Hermiston address, so you can feel the materials and finishes.
Are the pouches recyclable?
Mono-material pouches are available, designed for recycling where collection exists. Check the specification before you make any claim on pack.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Hermiston?
Hermiston is in Scotland, so the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003 cover your label, together with the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Who checks supplement labels in Edinburgh?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Edinburgh, with national oversight from Food Standards Scotland. For advice councils must respect, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Printed pouches for Hermiston brands
Printed pouches look more premium than a labelled stock pouch and save the time of applying labels. Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Resealable zips, clear windows and tear notches can all be added, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish. Still testing a product? Start with labels on stock pouches and move to printed pouches once it sells.

Rules in Scotland
Labelling law for supplements from Hermiston
Any food supplement sold from Hermiston must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, overseen by Food Standards Scotland. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
