Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Ilchester
Supplements sold from Ilchester must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
One label works across England, Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Printed pouches for Ilchester brands
Printed pouches look more premium than a labelled stock pouch and save the time of applying labels. Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Still testing a product? Begin with labels on stock pouches and move to printed pouches once it sells. Resealable zips, clear windows and tear notches can all be added, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish.

Ilchester questions
How long do printed pouches take to reach Ilchester?
Pouches take longer to make than labels: your quote includes the lead time, then delivery to Ilchester is usually the next working day after dispatch.
How many pouches do I need to order?
It depends on the pouch size and finish, and we quote them per design. For small quantities, use labels on stock pouches.
Do you send samples?
Yes. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Ilchester, showing our materials and finishes before you order.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must work for that market. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
Do I need to be based in Ilchester to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Ilchester orders go out by tracked delivery to BA22.
