Jarrow questions
Who enforces food labelling in South Tyneside?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for South Tyneside, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency. For advice councils must respect, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Jarrow, showing our materials and finishes.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Jarrow?
Jarrow is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 apply, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do I need to be based in Jarrow to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Jarrow deliveries go by tracked courier to NE32.
Printed pouches for Jarrow brands
Printed pouches look more premium than a labelled stock pouch and save the time of applying labels. Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Resealable zips, clear windows and tear notches can all be added, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish. Not ready for a printed run? Start with labels on stock pouches and switch later.
