Keysoe questions
Who checks supplement labels in Bedford Borough?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Bedford Borough, overseen nationally by the Food Standards Agency. If you want assured advice, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
How long do printed pouches take to reach Keysoe?
Pouches take longer to make than labels: we confirm the lead time with your quote, then delivery to Keysoe is usually the next working day after dispatch.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
Can I add a zip or window to the pouch?
You can choose: resealable zips, tear notches, hang holes and clear windows, in matt, gloss or soft-touch.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Keysoe?
Keysoe is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 apply, alongside the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Printed pouches for Keysoe brands
Printed pouches look more premium than a labelled stock pouch and save the time of applying labels. Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Zips, windows, tear notches and hang holes can all be added, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish. Still testing a product? Begin with labels on stock pouches and move to printed pouches once it sells.
