Matlaske questions
Who enforces food labelling in Norfolk?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Norfolk, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency. If you want assured advice, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Do you only work with Matlaske businesses?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Matlaske orders go by tracked delivery to NR11.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes, we can. Request a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Matlaske, showing our materials and finishes.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
What’s the minimum order for printed pouches?
Minimums depend on the pouch size and finish, and we quote them per design. For small quantities, label stock pouches instead.
Printed pouches for Matlaske brands
When a product is selling steadily, a printed pouch is often the next step from labels. We print your design directly onto the pouch, with the same compliance check as our labels. Zips, windows, tear notches and hang holes can all be added, with matt, gloss or soft-touch finishes. Not ready for a printed run? Begin with labels on stock pouches and switch later.

Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Matlaske
Products you sell from Matlaske must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
One label works across England, Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
