FAQs for Nettlestead
Who checks supplement labels in Kent?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Kent, overseen nationally by the Food Standards Agency. If you want assured advice, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Nettlestead?
Nettlestead is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 apply, alongside the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
How many pouches do I need to order?
Minimums depend on the pouch size and finish, and we quote them per design. For a small first run, use labels on stock pouches.
Do you only work with Nettlestead businesses?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Nettlestead orders go by tracked courier to ME18.
Printed pouches for Nettlestead brands
Printed pouches look more premium than a labelled stock pouch and save the time of applying labels. Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Still testing a product? Start with labels on stock pouches and move to printed pouches once it sells. Zips, windows, tear notches and hang holes can all be added, with matt, gloss or soft-touch finishes.
