Questions from Sandford brands
Do you offer recyclable pouches?
Mono-material pouches are available, designed for recycling where collection exists. Check the spec before putting a recycling claim on the pack.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
Do I need to be based in Sandford to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Sandford orders go by tracked delivery to BH20.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Sandford?
Sandford is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 cover your label, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
How many pouches do I need to order?
It depends on the pouch size and finish, and we quote them per design. For a small first run, label stock pouches instead.
Printed pouches for Sandford brands
Printed pouches look more premium than a labelled stock pouch and save the time of applying labels. Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Still testing a product? Start with labels on stock pouches and move to printed pouches once it sells. Resealable zips, clear windows and tear notches are all available, with matt, gloss or soft-touch finishes.

Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Sandford
Supplements sold from Sandford must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers for Dorset.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, as Great Britain shares one set of supplement rules.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
