Shieldaig questions
Are the pouches recyclable?
Mono-material pouches are available, designed for recycling where collection exists. Check the specification before you make any claim on pack.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Shieldaig?
Shieldaig is in Scotland, so the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003 apply, together with the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do you send samples?
Yes, we can. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Shieldaig address, so you can feel the materials and finishes.
Who enforces food labelling in Highland?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Highland, overseen nationally by Food Standards Scotland. If you want assured advice, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
What’s the minimum order for printed pouches?
It depends on the pouch size and finish, and we quote them per design. For small quantities, label stock pouches instead.
Printed pouches for Shieldaig brands
Printed pouches look more premium than a labelled stock pouch and save the time of applying labels. Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Resealable zips, clear windows and tear notches are all available, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish. Still testing a product? Begin with labels on stock pouches and switch later.

Any food supplement sold from Shieldaig must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by Food Standards Scotland. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
