Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Westwell Leacon
Supplements sold from Westwell Leacon must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
You can sell the same label in Scotland and Wales, because the supplement rules match across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Common questions in Westwell Leacon
Can pouches have a zip and window?
Yes: zips, tear notches, hang holes and windows, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
Do you only work with Westwell Leacon businesses?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Westwell Leacon orders go out by tracked courier to TN27.
How many pouches do I need to order?
Minimums depend on the pouch size and finish, and we quote them per design. For small quantities, label stock pouches instead.
Do you send samples?
Yes. Request a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Westwell Leacon address, showing our materials and finishes before you order.
