Questions from Babbs Green brands
Do you offer recyclable pouches?
Mono-material pouches are available, designed for recycling where collection exists. Check the specification before you make any claim on pack.
Who enforces food labelling in Hertfordshire?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Hertfordshire, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency. For advice councils must respect, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must work for that market. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
Do you only work with Babbs Green businesses?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Babbs Green deliveries go out by tracked delivery to SG12.
How long do printed pouches take to reach Babbs Green?
Pouches take longer to make than labels: we confirm the lead time with your quote, then delivery to Babbs Green is usually the next working day after dispatch.
Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Babbs Green
Any food supplement sold from Babbs Green must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
