Supplement labelling rules for Belan
Products you sell from Belan must meet the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency in Wales. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers for Powys.
Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Printed pouches for Belan brands
Printed pouches look more premium than a labelled stock pouch and save the time of applying labels. Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Not ready for a printed run? Begin with labels on stock pouches and switch later. Resealable zips, clear windows and tear notches can all be added, with matt, gloss or soft-touch finishes.

Common questions in Belan
Do I need to be based in Belan to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Belan deliveries go out by tracked courier to SY21.
Can pouches have a zip and window?
You can choose: zips, tear notches, hang holes and windows, in matt, gloss or soft-touch.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
How long do printed pouches take to reach Belan?

Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Belan?
Belan is in Wales, so the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003 cover your label, together with the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
