Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Bewdley
Products you sell from Bewdley must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Worcestershire.
You can sell the same label in Scotland and Wales, as Great Britain shares one set of supplement rules.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Printed pouches for Bewdley brands
When a product is selling steadily, a printed pouch is often the next step from labels. We print your design directly onto the pouch, with the same compliance check as our labels. Resealable zips, clear windows and tear notches can all be added, with matt, gloss or soft-touch finishes. Still testing a product? Begin with labels on stock pouches and switch later.

Bewdley questions
Who enforces food labelling in Worcestershire?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Worcestershire, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency. For advice councils must respect, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Do I need to be based in Bewdley to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Bewdley deliveries go out by tracked courier to DY12.
Can pouches have a zip and window?
Yes: resealable zips, tear notches, hang holes and clear windows, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
Do you send samples?
Yes. Request a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Bewdley, so you can feel the materials and finishes.
