FAQs for Ellon
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
Can pouches have a zip and window?
You can choose: zips, tear notches, hang holes and windows, in matt, gloss or soft-touch.
Are the pouches recyclable?
We offer mono-material pouches, designed for recycling where collection exists. Check the specification before you make any claim on pack.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes. Request a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Ellon address, showing our materials and finishes before you order.
What’s the lead time for pouches to Ellon?
Pouches take longer to make than labels: your quote includes the lead time, then delivery to Ellon is usually the next working day after dispatch.
Printed pouches for Ellon brands
Printed pouches look more premium than a labelled stock pouch and save the time of applying labels. Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Still testing a product? Begin with labels on stock pouches and switch later. Zips, windows, tear notches and hang holes are all available, with matt, gloss or soft-touch finishes.

Supplement labelling rules for Ellon
Any food supplement sold from Ellon must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of Food Standards Scotland. Locally, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff for Aberdeenshire.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
Start with our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
