Pitchcombe questions
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Pitchcombe?
Pitchcombe is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 cover your label, together with the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Who enforces food labelling in Gloucestershire?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Gloucestershire, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency. If you want assured advice, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Can pouches have a zip and window?
You can choose: resealable zips, tear notches, hang holes and clear windows, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish.
Are the pouches recyclable?
Mono-material pouches are available, designed for recycling where collection exists. Check the specification before you make any claim on pack.
Do I need to be based in Pitchcombe to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Pitchcombe orders go by tracked courier to GL6.
Printed pouches for Pitchcombe brands
Printed pouches look more premium than a labelled stock pouch and save the time of applying labels. Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Not ready for a printed run? Start with labels on stock pouches and switch later. Resealable zips, clear windows and tear notches are all available, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish.

Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Pitchcombe
Any food supplement sold from Pitchcombe must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, as Great Britain shares one set of supplement rules.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
