Scarrington questions
Who checks supplement labels in Nottinghamshire?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Nottinghamshire, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency. For advice councils must respect, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Can pouches have a zip and window?
You can choose: zips, tear notches, hang holes and windows, in matt, gloss or soft-touch.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
Do I need to be based in Scarrington to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Scarrington orders go out by tracked delivery to NG13.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Scarrington?
Scarrington is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 apply, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Printed pouches for Scarrington brands
Printed pouches look more premium than a labelled stock pouch and save the time of applying labels. Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Still testing a product? Start with labels on stock pouches and move to printed pouches once it sells. Resealable zips, clear windows and tear notches are all available, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish.
