The Handfords questions
Who checks supplement labels in Staffordshire?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Staffordshire, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency. For advice councils must respect, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
Are the pouches recyclable?
Mono-material pouches are available, designed for recycling where collection exists. Check the specification before you make any claim on pack.
Do you send samples?
Yes. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in The Handfords, showing our materials and finishes.
How long do printed pouches take to reach The Handfords?
Printed pouches take longer than labels: we confirm the lead time with your quote, then delivery to The Handfords is usually the next working day after dispatch.
