Questions from Throcking brands
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Throcking?
Throcking is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 apply, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
Do you send samples?
Yes, we can. Request a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Throcking address, so you can feel the materials and finishes before you order.
Do I need to be based in Throcking to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Throcking deliveries go by tracked courier to SG9.
How many pouches do I need to order?
It depends on the pouch size and finish, and we quote them per design. For small quantities, use labels on stock pouches.
Printed pouches for Throcking brands
When a product is selling steadily, a printed pouch is often the next step from labels. We print your design directly onto the pouch, with the same compliance check as our labels. Not ready for a printed run? Start with labels on stock pouches and move to printed pouches once it sells. Resealable zips, clear windows and tear notches are all available, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish.

Rules in England
Supplement labelling rules for Throcking
Any food supplement sold from Throcking must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Hertfordshire.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, because the supplement rules match across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
