West Burton questions
Who enforces food labelling in North Yorkshire?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for North Yorkshire, overseen nationally by the Food Standards Agency. If you want assured advice, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from West Burton?
West Burton is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 cover your label, alongside the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
Do you send samples?
Yes. Request a sample pack and we’ll post it to your West Burton address, showing our materials and finishes.
Can pouches have a zip and window?
Yes: zips, tear notches, hang holes and windows, in matt, gloss or soft-touch.
Printed pouches for West Burton brands

Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Still testing a product? Begin with labels on stock pouches and switch later.
