Questions from Malltraeth brands

What does the report look like?

A written report, with each item marked fine, advised or must fix, with suggested wording where needed.

How quickly do you review a label?

We confirm the turnaround when you send your label, and urgent checks can often be done quickly.

What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?

We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must work for that market. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.

Do you send samples?

Yes, we can. Request a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Malltraeth, showing our materials and finishes.

Can you check a label that’s already printed?

We can still check them. If we find problems, we’ll tell you what must change now and what can wait for the next run.

What the check covers for Malltraeth brands

We read your label line by line: the supplement statements, the nutrient table and %NRV maths, ingredients and allergens, claims, text size and traceability. You get a written report you can act on or pass to your designer. This is a practical check rather than legal advice. If you need advice councils must respect, a Primary Authority partnership is the next step. We check labels designed and printed anywhere, including ones from other printers.

Rules in Wales

Labelling law for supplements from Malltraeth

Products you sell from Malltraeth must meet the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency in Wales. In Isle of Anglesey, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.

Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.

Begin with our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
