FAQs for Marian
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Marian?
Marian is in Wales, so the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003 cover your label, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
What if my labels are already printed?
We’ll still check them. If we find problems, we’ll tell you which are urgent and which can wait for your next print run.
Do you send samples?
Yes. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Marian, so you can feel the materials and finishes.
How quickly do you review a label?
We confirm the turnaround when you send your label, and urgent checks can often be done quickly.
What the check covers for Marian brands
We read your label line by line: the supplement statements, the nutrient table and %NRV maths, ingredients and allergens, claims, text size and traceability. You get a written report you can act on or pass to your designer. The check covers any label, whoever designed or printed it, including ones from other printers. This is a practical check rather than legal advice. If you need advice councils must respect, a Primary Authority partnership is the next step.
