Send us your label and we’ll tell you, in writing, what must change before it goes on sale from Tal-y-bont.

FAQs for Tal-y-bont

Is your check the same as a Trading Standards check?

No. Trading Standards for Gwynedd enforce the law; we give an independent practical check before you print.

What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?

We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.

Do you only work with Tal-y-bont businesses?

No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Tal-y-bont deliveries go by tracked delivery to LL43.

How long does a check take?

We’ll tell you the turnaround when you send your artwork.

Can you check a label that’s already printed?

We’ll still check them. If we find problems, we’ll tell you which are urgent and which can wait for your next print run.

What the check covers for Tal-y-bont brands

Send your artwork or draft copy. We review it against the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, the food information rules and the GB nutrition and health claims register, and send back a written report with every point marked as fine, advised or must fix. We check labels designed and printed anywhere, not just our own. It’s a practical review, not legal advice. For assured advice, a Primary Authority partnership is the next step.

Supplement labelling rules for Tal-y-bont

Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.
