Rules in Wales
Supplement labelling rules for Temple Bar
Any food supplement sold from Temple Bar must meet the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency in Wales. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.
Start with our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

What the check covers for Temple Bar brands
We read your label line by line: the supplement statements, the nutrient table and %NRV maths, ingredients and allergens, claims, text size and traceability. You get a written report you can act on or pass to your designer. We check labels designed and printed anywhere, including ones from other printers. This is a practical check rather than legal advice. If you need advice councils must respect, a Primary Authority partnership is the next step.

Common questions in Temple Bar
Do I need to be based in Temple Bar to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Temple Bar orders go out by tracked delivery to SA14.
What does the report look like?
A written, point-by-point report, with each item marked fine, advised or must fix, plus suggested wording.
Is your check the same as a Trading Standards check?
No. Trading Standards for Carmarthenshire enforce the law; we give an independent practical check before you print.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes, we can. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Temple Bar, showing our materials and finishes.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must work for that market. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
