Questions from Wirksworth brands
Who checks supplement labels in Derbyshire?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Derbyshire, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency. For advice councils must respect, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
Can you check a label that’s already printed?
We can still check them. If we find problems, we’ll tell you what must change now and what can wait for the next run.
Do you only work with Wirksworth businesses?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Wirksworth orders go out by tracked delivery to DE4.
What does the report look like?
A written, point-by-point report, with each item marked fine, advised or must fix, plus suggested wording.
What the check covers for Wirksworth brands
We read your label line by line: the supplement statements, the nutrient table and %NRV maths, ingredients and allergens, claims, text size and traceability. You get a written report you can act on or pass to your designer. This is a practical check rather than legal advice. For assured advice, a Primary Authority partnership is the next step. The check covers any label, whoever designed or printed it, including ones from other printers.

One label works across England, Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
