Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Alweston
Supplements sold from Alweston must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff.
One label works across England, Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Printed pouches for Alweston brands
Printed pouches look more premium than a labelled stock pouch and save the time of applying labels. Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Not ready for a printed run? Begin with labels on stock pouches and switch later. Resealable zips, clear windows and tear notches are all available, with matt, gloss or soft-touch finishes.

Questions from Alweston brands
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
Do I need to be based in Alweston to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Alweston deliveries go out by tracked delivery to DT9.
What’s the minimum order for printed pouches?
It depends on the pouch size and finish, and we quote them per design. For small quantities, label stock pouches instead.
Who enforces food labelling in Dorset?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Dorset, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency. If you want assured advice, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Do you offer recyclable pouches?
Mono-material pouches are available, designed for recycling where collection exists. Check the spec before putting a recycling claim on the pack.
