Supplement labelling rules for Battle
Supplements sold from Battle must meet the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency in Wales. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff.
Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.

Printed pouches for Battle brands
Printed pouches look more premium than a labelled stock pouch and save the time of applying labels. Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Not ready for a printed run? Start with labels on stock pouches and switch later. Zips, windows, tear notches and hang holes are all available, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish.

Common questions in Battle
Can I add a zip or window to the pouch?
Yes: resealable zips, tear notches, hang holes and clear windows, in matt, gloss or soft-touch.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Battle?
Battle is in Wales, so the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003 cover your label, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Battle address, so you can feel the materials and finishes before you order.
How many pouches do I need to order?
Minimums depend on the pouch size and finish, and we quote them per design. For small quantities, label stock pouches instead.
