Dores questions
Who enforces food labelling in Highland?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Highland, with national oversight from Food Standards Scotland. If you want assured advice, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Do you only work with Dores businesses?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Dores deliveries go by tracked delivery to IV2.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
Do you offer recyclable pouches?
Mono-material pouches are available, designed for recycling where collection exists. Check the specification before you make any claim on pack.
Do you send samples?
Yes. Request a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Dores, so you can feel the materials and finishes before you order.
Printed pouches for Dores brands
When a product is selling steadily, a printed pouch is often the next step from labels. We print your design directly onto the pouch, with the same compliance check as our labels. Still testing a product? Begin with labels on stock pouches and move to printed pouches once it sells. Zips, windows, tear notches and hang holes can all be added, with matt, gloss or soft-touch finishes.
Dores is about 7 miles south-west of Inverness, in Highland. We deliver to homes, units and offices across the area, from Mill Croft and Torr Gardens outwards. Brands in Dores work with us remotely, and we deliver by tracked courier to IV2 and the surrounding area. We print for brands in 228 places across Highland, from the larger towns to small villages. The nearest big-city page is Glasgow, about 106 miles away, if you’d like to compare.

Rules in Scotland
Supplement labelling rules for Dores
Supplements sold from Dores must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, overseen by Food Standards Scotland. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff for Highland.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
