Common questions in Hollowell
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
Do you offer recyclable pouches?
We offer mono-material pouches, designed for recycling where collection exists. Check the spec before putting a recycling claim on the pack.
Who enforces food labelling in Northamptonshire?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Northamptonshire, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency. If you want assured advice, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Can I add a zip or window to the pouch?
Yes: zips, tear notches, hang holes and windows, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Hollowell?
Hollowell is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 apply, together with the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Printed pouches for Hollowell brands
Printed pouches look more premium than a labelled stock pouch and save the time of applying labels. Digital printing means short runs per design, so you don’t need to commit to tens of thousands of units. Still testing a product? Begin with labels on stock pouches and switch later. Resealable zips, clear windows and tear notches can all be added, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish.
