Rules in Wales
Labelling law for supplements from Star
Products you sell from Star must meet the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency in Wales. In Isle of Anglesey, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers for Isle of Anglesey.
Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Star questions
What’s the lead time for pouches to Star?
Printed pouches take longer than labels: your quote includes the lead time, then delivery to Star is usually the next working day after dispatch.
Can pouches have a zip and window?
Yes: zips, tear notches, hang holes and windows, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish.
Do I need to be based in Star to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Star orders go by tracked courier to LL60.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Star?
Star is in Wales, so the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003 apply, together with the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
