Rules in Scotland
Label rules that apply in Whitecraig
Supplements sold from Whitecraig must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of Food Standards Scotland. In East Lothian, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Printed pouches for Whitecraig brands
When a product is selling steadily, a printed pouch is often the next step from labels. We print your design directly onto the pouch, with the same compliance check as our labels. Resealable zips, clear windows and tear notches can all be added, with matt, gloss or soft-touch finishes. Still testing a product? Common questions in Whitecraig
Can pouches have a zip and window?
You can choose: resealable zips, tear notches, hang holes and clear windows, in a matt, gloss or soft-touch finish.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes. Request a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Whitecraig, showing our materials and finishes.
What’s the lead time for pouches to Whitecraig?
Pouches take longer to make than labels: your quote includes the lead time, then delivery to Whitecraig is usually the next working day after dispatch.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Whitecraig?
Whitecraig is in Scotland, so the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003 apply, together with the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
