Supplement label compliance check in Bryncir

Send us your label and we’ll tell you, in writing, what must change before it goes on sale from Bryncir.

Supplement label with corrections noted, Bryncir

What the check covers for Bryncir brands

We read your label line by line: the supplement statements, the nutrient table and %NRV maths, ingredients and allergens, claims, text size and traceability. You get a written report you can act on or pass to your designer. The check covers any label, whoever designed or printed it, not just our own. It’s a practical review, not legal advice. If you need advice councils must respect, a Primary Authority partnership is the next step.

Bryncir questions

What if my labels are already printed?

We’ll still check them. If we find problems, we’ll tell you which are urgent and which can wait for your next print run.

Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Bryncir?

Bryncir is in Wales, so the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003 apply, together with the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.

What does the report look like?

A written report, with each item marked fine, advised or must fix, plus suggested wording.

What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?

We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.

How quickly do you review a label?

We confirm the turnaround when you send your label, and urgent checks can often be done quickly.

Rules in Wales

Supplement labelling rules for Bryncir

Supplements sold from Bryncir must meet the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency in Wales. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Gwynedd.

Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.

A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
