Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Ely
Supplements sold from Ely must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency. In Cambridgeshire, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
One label works across England, Scotland and Wales, because the supplement rules match across Great Britain.
Start with our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

What the check covers for Ely brands
Send your artwork or draft copy. We review it against the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, the food information rules and the GB nutrition and health claims register, and send back a written report with every point marked as fine, advised or must fix. It’s a practical review, not legal advice. If you need advice councils must respect, a Primary Authority partnership is the next step. The check covers any label, whoever designed or printed it, not just our own.
