Send us your label and we’ll tell you, in writing, what must change before it goes on sale from Usk.
Questions from Usk brands
How long does a check take?
We confirm the turnaround when you send your label.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes. Request a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Usk, showing our materials and finishes before you order.
What does the report look like?
A written, point-by-point report, with each item marked fine, advised or must fix, with suggested wording where needed.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Usk?
Usk is in Wales, so the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003 cover your label, alongside the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Is your check the same as a Trading Standards check?
No. Trading Standards for Monmouthshire enforce the law; we give a practical second opinion before you print.
What the check covers for Usk brands
We read your label line by line: the supplement statements, the nutrient table and %NRV maths, ingredients and allergens, claims, text size and traceability. You get a written report you can act on or pass to your designer. This is a practical check rather than legal advice. If you need advice councils must respect, a Primary Authority partnership is the next step. The check covers any label, whoever designed or printed it, including ones from other printers.

Rules in Wales
Labelling law for supplements from Usk
Supplements sold from Usk must meet the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency in Wales. In Monmouthshire, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers for Monmouthshire.
Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
