Rules in England
Label rules that apply in East Ness
Products you sell from East Ness must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers for North Yorkshire.
You can sell the same label in Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
Start with our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

How design works for East Ness businesses
Send us your formula, pack size and any brand assets. We design the back panel to the rules first, then the front to sell, and send concepts for you to choose from. Bring your existing logo and colours or start from scratch, from a single label to a full range. Each design comes with a compliance check and print-ready files set up with bleed and a dieline, whether you print with us or elsewhere.

Questions from East Ness brands
Do I need to be based in East Ness to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. East Ness orders go out by tracked delivery to YO62.
Do I need to visit a designer near East Ness?
Not at all. We rarely meet clients in person: briefs, concepts and changes are handled by video call and email.
Do you do range designs?
Yes. A range design gives you a system: colour coding by benefit, a shared back-panel layout and templates for new SKUs.
Do I own the design files?
Yes. The final files are yours, set up for print with bleed and a dieline.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
