Pet supplement labels
Labels for dog, cat and horse supplements, which follow animal feed law rather than the human supplement rules.

Different law, different label
Pet supplements are usually sold as complementary feed under animal feed law. The human supplement statements don’t apply. Instead the label typically needs the type of feed (for example “complementary feed for dogs”), the composition, analytical constituents, additives, feeding instructions, the batch, a minimum storage life and the name and address of the business responsible.
Claims for pets
Pet products can’t claim to prevent, treat or cure disease. Products that do may fall under the Veterinary Medicines Regulations. Keep claims to nutrition and normal function.
