An Luirg questions
Who checks supplement labels in Highland?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Highland, overseen nationally by Food Standards Scotland. For advice councils must respect, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
Yes. Our digital press adds a different batch and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
What’s the smallest run you print?
There’s no fixed minimum. Many new brands start with 250 labels, and you can combine several designs in one order.
When will my labels arrive in An Luirg?
Usually two working days after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days after you approve the proof, so the majority of An Luirg orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll post it to your An Luirg address, showing our materials and finishes.
Rules in Scotland
Labelling law for supplements from An Luirg
Products you sell from An Luirg must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by Food Standards Scotland. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
Start with our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
