Questions from Blackwater brands
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
Yes. Our digital press adds a batch code and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Blackwater?
Blackwater is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 apply, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
Who checks supplement labels in Cornwall?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Cornwall, overseen nationally by the Food Standards Agency. For advice councils must respect, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
Laminated white PP. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and stays put on curved plastic.
