Rules in Wales
Supplement labelling rules for Blackwood
Products you sell from Blackwood must meet the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency in Wales. In Caerphilly, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers for Caerphilly.
Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Questions from Blackwood brands
Do I need to be based in Blackwood to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Blackwood orders go out by tracked courier to NP12.
What label suits a powder tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
Do you send samples?
Yes, we can. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Blackwood address, so you can feel the materials and finishes before you order.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Blackwood?
Blackwood is in Wales, so the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003 cover your label, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
