Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Braughing
Products you sell from Braughing must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Braughing questions
Which material is best for a protein tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
Do you only work with Braughing businesses?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Braughing orders go out by tracked courier to SG11.
Who enforces food labelling in Hertfordshire?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Hertfordshire, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency. If you want assured advice, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Is there a minimum order?
No fixed minimum. Short runs from 250 labels are common for new products, and you can mix several designs in one order.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
