Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Coleorton
Any food supplement sold from Coleorton must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Leicestershire.
You can sell the same label in Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Common questions in Coleorton
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
Do I need to be based in Coleorton to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Coleorton deliveries go by tracked delivery to LE67.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and stays put on curved plastic.
Who enforces food labelling in Leicestershire?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Leicestershire, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency. If you want assured advice, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Do you send samples?
Yes, we can. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Coleorton, showing our materials and finishes before you order.
