Rules in Scotland
Label rules that apply in Covington
Supplements sold from Covington must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of Food Standards Scotland. In South Lanarkshire, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
Start with our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Questions from Covington brands
Do you send samples?
Yes, we can. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Covington, showing our materials and finishes before you order.
Is there a minimum order?
No fixed minimum. Many new brands start with 250 labels, and you can combine several designs in one order.
How long does delivery to Covington take?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most Covington orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
Do you only work with Covington businesses?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Covington deliveries go by tracked delivery to ML12.
