Questions from Cranleigh brands
Who checks supplement labels in Surrey?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Surrey, overseen nationally by the Food Standards Agency. For advice councils must respect, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Is there a minimum order?
No fixed minimum. Many new brands start with 250 labels, and you can combine several designs in one order.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Cranleigh?
Cranleigh is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 apply, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
When will my labels arrive in Cranleigh?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so the majority of Cranleigh orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
