Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Desford
Any food supplement sold from Desford must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. In Leicestershire, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
You can sell the same label in Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
Start with our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Common questions in Desford
Do I need to be based in Desford to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Desford orders go out by tracked delivery to LE9.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and stays put on curved plastic.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
We can. Our digital press adds a batch code and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
What’s the smallest run you print?
No fixed minimum. Short runs from 250 labels are common for new products, and you can mix several designs in one order.
