Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Ellistown
Supplements sold from Ellistown must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
You can sell the same label in Scotland and Wales, as Great Britain shares one set of supplement rules.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Ellistown questions
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Ellistown address, so you can feel the materials and finishes before you order.
How long does delivery to Ellistown take?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so the majority of Ellistown orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
Laminated white PP. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
Yes. Our digital press adds a batch code and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
Who enforces food labelling in Leicestershire?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Leicestershire, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency. If you want assured advice, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
