Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Gairloch?
Gairloch is in Scotland, so the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003 apply, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do I need to be based in Gairloch to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Gairloch orders go out by tracked delivery to IV21.

Yes. Request a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Gairloch, showing our materials and finishes before you order.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
Laminated white PP. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
Rules in Scotland
Supplement labelling rules for Gairloch
Products you sell from Gairloch must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, overseen by Food Standards Scotland. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Highland.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
