Questions from Gittisham brands
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
We can. Our digital press adds a different batch and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Gittisham?
Gittisham is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 cover your label, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do I need to be based in Gittisham to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Gittisham orders go out by tracked courier to EX14.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
Who checks supplement labels in Devon?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Devon, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency. For advice councils must respect, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
